In 1997, Novo Nordisk established Novo Nordisk (China) R&D Center in Beijing, and a healthcare dedicated center was established in 2002. It was the first R&D center established in China by an international pharmaceutical company with the focus on biotechnology, and currently also one of four R&D units that Novo Nordisk established outside Denmark. In 2006, the center was registered as an independent company named “Beijing Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals Science and technology Co., Ltd.” (abbreviated as NNST).
Novo Nordisk (China) R&D Center has advanced R&D facilities, world class research environment and creative talents from China and abroad. The center’s main research area is therapeutic protein discovery and development for treating diabetes, inflammatory diseases, haemostasis related disorders and human growth hormone deficiency, with the current focus on technology development and application of protein expression and purification. In September 2010, Novo Nordisk announced that the company will expand NNST from then 100 people to 200 employees by 2015. The expansion will largely be dedicated to a new Diabetes research unit, including state-of-art animal facilities for pharmacology research. This expansion will help Novo Nordisk get access to the tremendous resource of talents, ideas, and innovation in China. As an integral part of Novo Nordisk Global R&D, the R&D team in China will eventually take part in drug discovery from idea generation through in vivo pharmacology.

Research Associate-DCP
Job Description
We are looking for a research associate with experience in cell biology with a focus on stabilized cell lines culture and cell based assays. The main responsibility of this position is to assist a PhD-level scientist with laboratory work, data analysis, documentation and other related tasks.
The major goals for the position are to generate stably expressing mammalian cell lines and to develop and use cell based assays for diabetes biology research. Thus, a lot of your time will be spent in the laboratory, where your tasks includes cell culture and cell based assays, processing of data and reporting of results in collaboration with a PhD-level scientist. Furthermore, you will be expected to assist with diabetes related tissue and primary cell culture. You will be involved in the collaboration within Diabetes Biology Department and with colleagues from other departments or with colleagues in Denmark. A high degree of flexibility and the ability to handle several tasks is expected.
You will be part of a team in a highly dynamic and challenging environment within the Diabetes Research Unit.
Qualifications
?MS degree in cell biology, immunology, biochemistry or related biological background.
?Experienced with cell culture including primary cell culture and stabilized cell line culture.
?Experienced with cell based assays.
?Experience with molecular biology (cloning, PCR) is an upside.
?Able to follow protocols consistently.
?Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
?Proactive and able to take responsibility beyond own tasks.
?Good at communicating, good team-player, highly flexible and have a “can-do” approach.
?Good verbal and written skills in English.

Research Associate, Cell Biology,BRC
Job Description

Biopharm Research China (BRC) is one of the research units in Novo Nordisk China R&D and a fully integrated part of the Biopharmaceuticals Research Unit (BRU) in Denmark. We are committed to developing innovative biologics to improve the lives of people with haemophilia, growth disorders, and autoimmune diseases. By leveraging our core competences in protein and antibody engineering & production, we support Novo Nordisk pipeline projects in turning naturally occurring proteins into valuable pharmaceuticals and identifying new molecular targets for the treatment of diseases. Currently BRC consists of three research departments: Molecular Biology, Protein Chemistry, and Cell Biology. Responsibility
We are looking for a research associate with background in clinical medicine training. Experience in tissue and primary cell culture, and ELISA techniques are essential for the position. Independent Hands-on experience in FACS techniques and human blood materials is desirable for this position. Clinical knowledge in rheumatoid arthritis will be an advantage. The main responsibility of this position is to isolation of human primary cells, and establishment of ex vivo assays.

Research Associate,Molecular Biology, DRC
Job Description
We are looking for a research associate with experience molecular biology. The main responsibility of this position is to assist a PhD-level scientist with laboratory work, documentation and other tasks related to molecular biology. Thus, a lot of your time will be spent in the laboratory where your tasks will include the design, execution, and implementation of a portion of a scientific research project(s) in collaboration with the research team. Furthermore, you will be expected to assist with the implementation of new technologies. You will be part of a team in a highly dynamic and challenging environment within the Diabetes Research Unit.
Qualifications
? BS or MS in Molecular Biology or related biological background.
? 2+ years of laboratory research experience and demonstrated knowledge with hands on laboratory work in the field of molecular biology, e.g. design primers for DNA cloning and mutagenesis, perform DNA cloning and mutagenesis for various proteins.
? Expertise in molecular cloning, cell culture and protein expression in E.coli is a must
? Good verbal and written English skills
? Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously,
? You are proactive and able to take responsibility beyond own tasks,
? You are communicating and collaborating in a positive and motivating way, a good team-player, highly flexible and have a “can-do” approach.
